Medication Safety
Metro Health has been a leader in medication safety with a
dedicated, active program since 2000. Today we have multiple programs
addressing how we choose and deliver medications across the organization, from
the office to the operating room. We work with organizations such as the
Institute for Healthcare Improvement, the Institute for Safe Medication
Practices, and the Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program to constantly
improve our systems and our practices in all areas of medication ordering,
preparation and administration.
We've been nationally recognized for measures we've taken here to make sure that we give patients the right things at the right time, and we've presented some of our activities at national meetings. We're moving forward with systems that will show any physician anywhere in the Metro Health system what you use and help them make the best decisions about what you need, with links to your medical profile and to the latest reference material. It's part of our goal of providing you the best patient experience possible at Metro Health.
