A Warm, Friendly Environment
Breathing. It's something many take for granted. But for those who suffer from lung-related diseases or injuries and require artificial respiration, breathing is a special gift.
That's why Metro Health Hospital established the state's first acute care, hospital-based assisted breathing center in 1985. Our
43-bed acute-care unit is a department of Metro Health Hospital and provides state-of-the-art, compassionate care for ventilator-dependent patients.
Acute medical services and rehabilitation are available at all times in a warm, friendly environment. When appropriate, weaning from the ventilator is also attempted.
