Saving Lives and Limbs
The Heart & Vascular Center at Metro Health Hospital offers convenient, state-of-the-art care at one easy-to-reach location. And now, Metro Health is proud to announce the formation of our new heart and vascular practice, Metro Heart & Vascular. These expert cardiologists, formerly with West Michigan Heart, are the same specialists you've come to know and trust, just with a new practice name. Meet our Medical Team.
From emergent conditions like heart attacks and chest pain to diagnostic and preventive care, our team is well equipped to address a wide range of needs. Several members of our team also have special expertise in the treatment of peripheral vascular disease. They are having great success clearing blockages and restoring circulation to the legs, even with the most challenging of cases. Their skills in this area are literally saving lives and limbs and have gained national attention.
Metro Heart & Vascular offers a full spectrum of cardiovascular services just inside the front door of Metro Health Hospital. You can call (616) 241-2333 for an appointment. Our team will also soon be practicing at a new location at 1915 W. Washington Street in Greenville, (616) 225-5940, and will start seeing patients at the Women's Health Center at 555 MidTowne Street in downtown Grand Rapids in December.
Cardiologists, interventional radiologists, vascular surgeons and physicians work within the Heart and Vascular Center at Metro Health Hospital. They perform procedures such as diagnostic cardiac catheterization, emergent angioplasty, vascular angiograms, as well as interventions and electrophysiology studies. Implantation of pacemakers and defibrillators occurs at the center along with a full range of non-invasive diagnostic services.
The cardiovascular lab includes a 12-bed pre- and post-care area where patients benefit from state-of-the-art bedside monitoring systems that detect the slightest problems and immediately alert nursing staff. Patients also enjoy perks like their own televisions to make their stays more comfortable.
