Magnetic Resonance Imaging

MRI Magnetic resonance imaging uses a strong magnet to create medical images of the anatomy. It is particularly helpful for the brain, spine, joints and some organs. MRI is always used in conjunction with other tests to help diagnose a condition. Metro Health has a new MRI unit in the new hospital. The caring staff and physicians for this service are often complimented on the way they make the MRI exam the best possible experience for our patients. Most tests take at least 45 minutes to complete. You will be asked to change your clothes, and will be screened by our skilled staff for specific items that may interfere with a good MRI study. The MRI unit looks similar to a CT machine because there is a "doughnut" like structure with a table that moves in and out of the doughnut.
