Scott Halquist has joined the Metro Health Hospital Foundation as special gifts director. Halquist brings 20 years of health care and development experience to his new role with the regional health care organization. He will be responsible for directing and managing an ongoing leadership gifts program and planned giving effort for Metro Health Hospital, development of an overall annual and strategic plan for leadership gifts and assisting with major development campaigns.
Prior to joining the Foundation, Halquist worked at Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services in positions of increasing authority. Most recently, he served as director of development programs with responsibility for major gifts and planned giving, where he developed a bequest society, coordinated fundraisers, developed guidelines for a charitable gift annuity program and expanded relationships with new and existing donors.
A registered nurse, Halquist also served as a nurse case manager, charge nurse and mental health worker at the Grand Rapids facility. Halquist holds an associate degree in nursing from Grand Rapids Community College and a bachelor of science in applied psychology from Grand Valley State University.
