Brian D. Jepson Earns Healthcare Management Credential

Return to News & Events

Brian D. Jepson recently became a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.  Jepson, who is Metro's executive vice president of growth strategies, also received board certification from ACHE, which is the nation's leading professional society for healthcare leaders.  To become a fellow, Jepson was required to pass a comprehensive certification exam, meet academic and experiential criteria, demonstrate professional and community involvement and other criteria.

Fellow status represents achievement of the highest standard of professional development in healthcare.  Only 7,500 of the nation's healthcare executives hold this distinction.  ACHE fellows are committed to ongoing professional development and undergo recertification every three years.

Jepson has more than a dozen years of health-care management experience.  As executive vice president, Jepson is responsible for developing and implementing programs designed to grow and enhance Metro's presence in West Michigan.  He oversees new physician recruiting and retention, development of new neighborhood outpatient centers and expansion of specialty-care offerings.  He also serves as community liaison and maintains business relationships with organizations in the Metro Health Village.

Prior to joining Metro Health, Jepson spent seven years as the executive vice president and chief operating officer of Morris Hospital and Healthcare Centers located in Morris, Ill.  He also served in positions of increasing responsibility at the Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster, Ohio.

Active professionally and in the community, Jepson has served on the board of the Deerpath Orthopedic Surgical Center.  He was a member of the Illinois Hospital Association, the Chicago Healthcare Executive Forum and served on the underwriting committee for the Illinois Provider Trust.

He has held leadership positions and served on numerous committees with various community organizations, including the Grundy County Chamber of Commerce Board, Grundy County Economic Development Council, District 54 School System, Morris Kiwanis Club and the First Christian Church.
