Metro Health Hospital Foundation to Host Fundraiser

Return to News & Events

Metro Health Hospital Foundation will host Feelin' Grand, its premier fundraising event, on Saturday, September 20. Proceeds will help support new technology used for the early detection of breast cancer. Earlier this year, Metro Health announced a partnership with the University of Michigan to provide radiation-oncology services to its patients through a new cancer center at Metro Health Village.

"No one is untouched by cancer," said Laura Staskiewicz, chief development officer of the Metro Health Hospital Foundation.  "One in four people will be diagnosed with cancer and 25 percent of those will die from the disease."

"Metro Health annually identifies more than 700 patients with cancer. Through Feelin' Grand and other initiatives, the Metro Health Hospital Foundation is proud to support the work of our doctors, nurses and other health-care providers to detect and treat this horrible disease."

Feelin' Grand will begin at 6 p.m. with a reception and social hour at DeVos Place in downtown Grand Rapids.  Dinner will follow at 7 p.m. The event will feature a special performance by On Broadway, which combines choreography, vocals and costumes to pay tribute to Broadway hits.  Dancing with musical entertainment by Trilogy, a Midwest dance band that features a variety of musical styles, will conclude the evening.

Feelin' Grand, which is an annual black-tie event, has been held since 1993.  Last year, more than 840 people attended.

Tickets are $200 per person and are on sale now. Fifty percent of the ticket price is tax-deductible.  To purchase tickets or to receive information on sponsorship opportunities, call the Metro Health Hospital Foundation at (616) 252.5002.
